Our Philosophy

At SEEHER PEARLS, we believe in creating high quality and affordable jewelry using beautiful, natural materials. Each piece is crafted with intention and care. Understanding the components of your jewelry is the first step in preserving its beauty.

The Materials We Use & How to Care for Them

1. Natural Freshwater Pearls

What They Are:

Our pearls are 100% natural freshwater pearls, cultivated in mussels. Each pearl is unique, with its own slight variations in shape, luster, and surface texture—this is a sign of its natural origin, not a flaw.

Why We Love Them: They offer an organic, elegant beauty that is both timeless and modern.

How to Care for Them:

Last On, First Off: Pearls are soft and porous. Apply perfumes, hairsprays, and lotions before putting on your pearl jewelry.

Gentle Wipe: After wearing, gently wipe them with a soft, lint-free cloth (like a microfiber or jewelry cloth) to remove body oils and sweat.

Keep Them Dry: Avoid submerging pearls in water (showering, swimming, washing dishes) as it can weaken the silk thread and damage the nacre.

Store Separately: Store pearls separately in a soft pouch or cloth to prevent them from being scratched by harder metals or gemstones.

2. 925 Sterling Silver with Rhodium Plating
What It Is: Our sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver, alloyed for strength. To enhance its beauty and durability, we give it an exquisite finish through a process called rhodium plating. Rhodium is a precious metal from the platinum family, known for its brilliant, ultra-white mirror-like shine and exceptional hardness.

Why We Love It: This plating creates a stunning, reflective surface that is even brighter and whiter than standard silver. Most importantly, it provides a protective barrier that significantly reduces tarnishing and makes the piece more scratch-resistant. It is also highly hypoallergenic.

How to Care for It:

Long-Lasting Protection: The rhodium layer will protect the underlying silver from tarnish for a long time. To preserve this plating, store it in a cool, dry place, ideally in an anti-tarnish bag or a sealed pouch.

Clean Gently: To clean, use a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth to gently wipe the surface. Avoid abrasive polishing cloths, as they can wear down the rhodium plating over time.

Avoid Chemicals: Contact with harsh chemicals (chlorine, bleach, ammonia) and substances like sulfur can break down the rhodium layer. Always remove your jewelry before swimming, cleaning, or using beauty products like lotions and perfumes.

3. 14K Gold Filled

What It Is: Gold-filled material is not plating. It is composed of a thick layer of 14-karat gold (100x thicker than typical plating) mechanically bonded to a core of jewelers' brass. This makes it highly durable, tarnish-resistant, and much more valuable than gold-plated items.

Why We Love It: It provides the luxurious look and feel of solid gold at a more accessible price point, with excellent longevity.

How to Care for It:

Durable, But Not Invincible: While tarnish-resistant, it can still be scratched. Store it separately.

Simple Cleaning: Clean with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap if needed. Dry immediately and thoroughly.

Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive cleaners, chemicals, or polishing cloths designed for other metals, as they can wear down the gold layer over time.

4. Stainless Steel with Gold PVD Coating

What It Is: This is a surgical-grade stainless steel that has been plated with a layer of real gold using a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) process. This creates an extremely durable, scratch-resistant, and tarnish-proof coating.

Why We Love It: It's our most durable and waterproof option, perfect for those who want low-maintenance jewelry that can be worn every day, even in water!

How to Care for It:

Highly Durable: It is highly resistant to scratches, tarnish, and water damage.

Easy Clean: Can be cleaned with warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth. It is safe to get wet.

Avoid Harsh Impacts: While very tough, it can still be damaged by extreme force or harsh chemicals.

5. Natural Stones (e.g., Amethyst, Aquamarine, etc.)

What They Are: We use genuine, natural gemstones. Each stone has unique variations and inclusions, which are nature's fingerprints.

Why We Love Them: They add a pop of color and unique energy to our designs.

How to Care for Them:

Clean Gently: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Some porous stones (like opal or turquoise) should never be soaked in water.

Research: Care can vary by stone type. We are happy to provide specific care instructions for any piece upon request.

General Jewelry Care Tips

Storage is Key: Always store jewelry separately in a soft pouch, jewelry box with compartments, or a zip-lock bag to prevent tangling and scratches.

Put Jewelry On Last: Make jewelry the final touch after applying makeup, perfume, and getting dressed.

Take Jewelry Off First: Remove jewelry before exercising, cleaning, swimming, or showering.

Regular Checks: Gently check for loose stones or clasps periodically to prevent loss.
